What to Expect

Before You Arrive

Before starting your first day at EyeSouth Partners, there are several pre-employment initiatives you will need to complete.

Required Tasks

After you receive your offer letter, you will receive an email with instructions for logging in to our New Hire Onboarding Portal via UKG to complete your required onboarding tasks and instructions from Simpliverified to complete background and health (Drug/TB) screenings. While each employee’s task list will differ, some standard tasks include:      

Initiating pre-employment health screenings, all new employees must successfully pass a drug screening. Individuals in patient-facing roles will be required to complete a TB screening. Failure to complete these screenings before the 3-day expiration as outlined on the e-screening pass may result in the offer of employment being rescinded. 

Suggested Tasks on Your First Day 

Please review our list of suggested tasks to help you take care of critical items on your first day with EyeSouth Partners. Below is a list of suggested tasks to help you take care of key items on your first day.

Tasks

On your first day, you will need to bring in documentation so that your local HR Rep can complete Section 2 of your Form I-9.

Orientation will be held at 12 pm EST (11 am CST) on the first and third Monday of the month on/after your first day of employment. This will be via a live webinar, taking approximately 1 hour or less. 

Once all pre-onboarding documents are received, and onboarding initiatives are complete, you’ll have an official invitation to your work and personal email. Please make plans accordingly.

Some affiliates may offer an additional form of orientation for new employees. This varies by location.

  • Meet with your manager to discuss your initial assignments, the purpose of your work, and how it fits into your department’s organizational structure and goals.
  • Clarify your first week’s schedule and confirm if there is any required or recommended training.
  • Review your hours of work. Ask questions about policies and procedures for overtime, use of vacation and sick time, holidays, and any flexible work policies or procedures.
  • Set up your Personal Workspace, including voicemail and email.
  • Tour the building and understand how to gain building access.
  • Ensure all your technological needs are requested – system and software, etc.

New Hire Virtual Orientation

Get acclimated to EyeSouth Partners with this one-hour session specifically for new hires.

New Employee Welcome Session

  • As a new hire, you will be enrolled to attend our New Hire Orientation, designed to acclimate you to EyeSouth Partners and ensure you have a proper welcome to our dynamic organization!

About the Session

Presented by EyeSouth Partners Human Resources Onboarding Team, the New Hire Orientation is offered via TEAMS and will:

  • Provide an overview of the company’s history, mission, and culture
  • Cover important policies and expectations for all employees
  • Explain the many benefits and programs that are available to you
  • Orientation will be held at 12 pm EST (11 am CST) on the first and third Monday of the month on/after your first day of employment. This will be via a live webinar, taking approximately 1 hour or less.

Your First 30 Days

The first 30 days at EyeSouth Partners will go quickly as you get used to your new role and learn as you go. Here are some suggested tasks to help you take care of key items while you’re continuing to learn and understand your new role.

Tasks

By now you should have received several communications regarding your benefits.  These emails explain when, where, and how you can enroll in your benefits.  It also provides links to our employee intranet which houses all specifics as they relate to your total benefits suite.  You have 30 days from your start date to enroll.  Once the enrollment window closes you will not be able to enroll again until the next Annual Open Enrollment or if you experience a Qualified Life Event. Talk to your HR representative to discuss the benefits available to you and look at the Benefits information on our website for more information.


Your First 60 Days

Tasks

There’s never been a better time to start planning for your future. All full-time and part-time EyeSouth Partners employees are eligible to participate in our 401k program on the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment. Employees can have up to 4% of their salary matched after one year of service.


Your First Year

You should feel comfortable in your new position now that you’ve been at EyeSouth Partners for a year. As you grow and develop in your role, you’ll begin making meaningful contributions to your department and the community. Here are a few suggestions of things you can do to make the most of your first year here.

Tasks

You may be new to our community, but there’s no reason you shouldn’t be an active participant! The easiest way to stay engaged is to read any emails, newsletters, and publications that may be sent out. These materials are the best way to learn about any essential information at EyeSouth Partners. Contribute and participate during Annual Benefits Enrollment. 

This is your chance to review and make necessary changes to your benefits annually. You can also set aside any Flexible Spending Account dollars for the coming year.

Make it a priority to meet one-on-one with your manager regularly. Meeting with your manager will help you receive ongoing, noteworthy feedback about your performance, ways to improve, and what you can do to meet your personal and professional goals.

EyeSouth Partners offers reimbursement for the cost of various certifications for numerous departments, including a certified ophthalmic assistant (COA), a certified ophthalmic technician (COT), and a certified patient service specialist (CPSS). 

Staff members at EyeSouth Partners receive an annual performance review.
